Kosovo trade deficit over 202 million euros

Statistical Agency of Kosovo (KSA), has published “Foreign Trade Statistics” for the month of July 2013, which show a lower trade deficit for the month of July 2013, from 202.5 million euros, compared to a deficit of 208.5 million euros with the same period of 2012. While, according to the main groups of import are: 20.6 per cent of imports of mineral products, 14.0 percent for prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco, 11.3 percent of base metals and articles thereof; 9.3 percent machinery, mechanical equipment and electricity, 6.6 percent of chemical industry products, 6.4 percent plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 5.3 percent in transportation, 4.7 percent herbal products, and so on.

As for exchange with other countries, Kosovo's main trading partners are the EU countries, which participate with 37.9 percent for exports and 43.1 percent for imports. While the CEFTA countries participate with 36.6 percent for exports and 30.8 percent of imports in relation to the total of the month.

The largest percentage of exports was: Italy 27.5 percent, 15 percent Albania, Macedonia 10.7 percent, 4.7 percent Serbia, Montenegro 4.4 percent, Turkey 3.0 percent, India 3.0 percent. While, according to the data, the most imports are from: Germany 11.6 percent, 11.0 percent Serbia, Italy 10.3 percent, Turkey 8.5, 8.3 Macedonia, China, etc. 8.0 percent.
