Indonesian investment in Osijek – the possibility to open a large number of jobs

Osijek could become a logistics center for the entry of Indonesian and Asian goods to the EU market , and with realization of that vision , it could be opened up opportunities for significant investment and the opening of a large number of jobs, it was said at yesterday's meeting of the Minister of Economy Ivan Vrodljaka with Osijek city and county authorities with the Indonesian investors.

Minister Vrdoljak said after the meeting that these discussions open up the possibility of economic and political strategic partnership with Indonesia, as Croatia , through the port of Rijeka and Osijek , has the fastest and cheapest way to transport goods to Mediterranean and Black Sea.

He added that Croatia can offer the possibility of building a refinery for processing palm oil , one of Indonesia's main export products, and also can assist Asian investors in communication with the European Commission and the European Parliament as well as open up Croatian companies logistics channels for the Asian market .

CEO of “Global Putra International” Sumadi reported that the Croatian company ” Orbico ” signed an agreement on the establishment of ‘ joint- venture ‘ company . He noted that Indonesia is the world's largest producer of palm oil , which in the European Union used in the production of biodiesel , so they need in Croatia  strong logistical infrastructure.
