Agreement with the UAE on Tourism and Real Estate Development Approved in Parliament

At today’s session of the Parliament of Montenegro, MPs voted again on the Agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the field of tourism and real estate development. A total of 52 MPs voted: 41 in favor, seven against, and four abstained — meaning the Agreement was adopted.

Before the vote, independent MP Jevrosima Pejović thanked all NGOs and individuals who pointed out the harmful aspects of this agreement. As for what she called “those who trade state property,” she warned that she would pursue them both during and after her term in office.

GP URA MP Filip Adžić added that despite the wealth of information received from domestic experts and European partners regarding the Agreement, the fact that it would be adopted today clearly shows how little the parliamentary majority cares about the national interest.

MP Ilir Čapuni said he would not invoke laws or call for a recess but once again appealed for reason, stressing that tonight was an opportunity to vote against the Agreement. He also thanked NGOs for highlighting the shortcomings of this state-level deal.

Mandić announced that the session would continue tomorrow.
