Gazprom is building an oil pipeline between Romania and Serbia

The consortium that consists of two Romanian and two Serbian companies plan to set up pipeline between two countries..

The consortium consists of the Romanian side Conpet , and air Oil Terminal, from Serbian side NIS, which is owned by Gazprom, and air Transanfta. Gazprom, as it is point out, by this pipeline is going to assure the supply of oil between the port Konstanca on the Black Sea and oil refineries in Pancevo.

Currently there is an oil pipeline between the Konstanca  and Romanian city Pitesti. By this project, which will cost about 200 million euro, by pipeline system two countries. will be connected.

At a distance of 320 kilometers the pipeline from Pitesti will forward about 7.5 million tons of oil per year. For later, there is possibility for extend of pipeline to the refinery in Bosanski Brod.

A new branch of the pipeline oil will be part of the pipeline from Konstance  through Pancevo, to Trieste. Most of the pipeline goes through Romanian territory, but the owner of the major part  will be Gazprom, through its company NIS, explained Liviu Djilas, general manager of Conpet.

In the future feasibility study should be done, and Romania has already established a company that will deal with the implementation of the project.
