The British Ambassador in Kosovo, Jan Cliff, said the biggest challenge for Kosovo is the high rate of unemployment and the trade deficit. According to him, Kosovo will invest in the future in mining, agriculture and energy, which are considered as potential areas for economic development.
“The biggest problem is not related to this.It has to do with the fact that about 45 percent officially unemployed and many young people come from the educational system, in parallel with the major revision between import and export.,Ambassador Cliff says during a lecture at the polls.
He added that the British government, in addition to political support for Kosovo, has also provided support for economic and social development.
Although no figures are presented, he has mentioned the contribution of the British Department for International Development in the health system and the British Council in the country’s education, which still remain weak.

But Cliff said that Kosovo still needs to do more for economic development and focus on certain sectors.
