On Saturday Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska – Zeljka Cvijanovic opened representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity in Washington, which should promote a policy of Banja Luka and its economic interests. Cvijanovic said that in this way, “seeks to establish cooperation with foreign partners and promote RS as place of potential investments .”
Head of the representative office, who has no diplomatic status and is independent from official diplomatic network of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is Obrad Kesic , Serbian lobbyist in Washington. Former President of Serbia Boris Tadic also attended.
Washington is eighth branch that RS opened abroad, including offices in Belgrade , Moscow, Brussels , Thessaloniki.
RS President Milorad Dodik strong advocate establishment of these offices. From entity budget for this purpose is allocated nearly a million and a half euros in this year.

Opposition parties in RS criticized that project as costly and unnecessary.
“In past four years it has allocated nearly 20 million convertible marks ( 10 million euros ), and I do not see that the RS had some benefits,” said former RS President Dragan Cavic, commenting opening office in Washington
