Medja remains CEO of NLB in Slovenia

The Supervisory Board of New Ljubljana Bank today did not replace CEO Janka Medju,  who is subject of police investigations on insider trading in shares of Mercator. – The Supervisory Board shall as soon as possible evaluate head of the office and the Chairman of the Board regarding the altered legal framework within the Bank of Slovenia. Chairman of the Board decided to exclude himself from all business decisions regarding to business transactions Agrokor-Mercator. Management of NLB in unaltered composition and unchanged authorities continued their work, reports NLB.

Investigators of the National Investigation Office in areas of police administration Ljubljana and Kranj conducted for evidence of abuse of insider information that affected the stock price seven house searches today.

The former CEO of UniCredit Slovenia France Arhar, and current Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NLB, whose office also searched by police, confirmed that subject of investigation are business of Unicredit with shares of Mercator at time when he and Medja  were board members of the bank. He explained that  bank got shares of Mercator  obtained on the basis of repo line with Istrabenz.
