“Lidl” is waiting for the grand opening in Serbia

“Lidl” is waiting for the big opening. German trading chain  “Lidl” continue shopping locations for its stores in Serbia. Policy of the company is to open several stores at once . Because of that , for last  three years in Serbia there is only representative of “Lidl” , and they say that they bought land in seven cities so far.

For start “Lidl” plans to open at least 15 stores in Serbia. That’s why for more than two flourishes vegetation in Lidlovoj plot in Zrenjanin. City leaders do not worry about it, because they have strong agreement .

Mayor Ivan Bosnjak is confident that “Lidl” will simultaneously open objects in Serbia. “In Zrenjanin the object will be open in the same time as other 14 locations across Serbia” said Bosnjak .

Locations are provided in Belgrade, Novi Sad , Subotica, Valjevo and Smederevo. In some of these cities, they have their eye on some new.

When the “Lidl” will open the door for customers, there is no official confirmation . Optimistic estimate in next year. In Croatia,  “Lidl” has 88 objects, and consumers praise prices and quality of products.

“Lidl” mainly sells its trademark and that is why the products are up to 30 % cheaper. Consumer associations are concerned whether, because of the high prices in other stores, it will be the same situation in Serbia.

Goran Papović from Association expects that prices will be cheaper.

“It is normal that we expect products to be cheaper , if we know that Serbia is burdened with trade monopoly, If we know that is burden with margins when it comes to consumer goods,” said Papović .

Professor of Faculty of Economics Acimovic thinks that  it would be better if Lidl” came in Serbia earlier.

“If “Lidl” came earlier, we would probably have had a higher degree of competition in the market , we would have correctly relation with our suppliers and much of what we don ‘ t have now ,” said Acimovic .

Even they announcing a wide range of products, for “Lidl” is more characteristic shortlisted goods produced for specifically use. In every country domestic producers have the opportunity, if their price and quality fit into the concept of the trading chain .
