Kosovo haven for counterfeiting of money

The trend of counterfeiting of money Kosovo recently received worrying dimensions. Security experts estimate that this phenomenon brings great damage, so they say, must be fought by all means.

According to Kosovo Police statistics, during 2012 and the first half of 2013, identified 465 cases of counterfeit money.

Florian Qehaja Center for Security Studies (CSS), told that counterfeit money is a problem for  itself, as soon as the expertise of relevant security institutions lacking. The problem of counterfeiting money, he says it constitutes one of the forms of organized crime that must be fought at all costs.

Qehaja considers that this number is a clear indication that Kosovo is dealing with rather widespread organized crime. “Kosovo police must use all the capabilities of intelligence that has to identify the locations where the counterfeit money”, he emphasized.

Security affairs expert Florian Qehaja means that the seizure of counterfeit money is the last line of combating this phenomenon. “Kosovo Police must increase its capacity to focus on this area given its complexities,” he told.
