KiM: Unemployment is higher than 30.9%

The latest data of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo (ASK) which show that the unemployment rate in Kosovo has decreased by 35 percent which  was in the first half of 2012 to 30.9 percent at the end of 2012, experts economic affairs and civil society representatives considered unrealistic.

They say there was economic development in Kosovo to the extent that would reduce the unemployment rate. According to them, the unemployment figures could be much higher.

Former president of KCC, Ismail Kastrati says that  most of the data of KSA are unclear and unknown. KSA research is vague  and unfamiliar  , according to Kastrati, economy remains informal economic activity in agriculture.

“We have had economic activity not to employ contingent of unemployed, but even generations to come on the market for the first time can not absorb, so in my opinion these statistics are not reliable,” says.

According to labor force survey for 2012, 750 476, persons are, not active, which means that they are not employed and were not actively seeking employment while 438 544 people are active, of which 302 844 are employed, 135 700. unemployed

However, to reduce the level of unemployment in Kosovo he believes that Kosovo institutions should be based on accurate data and the census data.

Results of the general population, which were published in September last year had shown that unemployment in Kosovo was 44.9 percent.
