Croatia stands firmly behind the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries , including Serbia, Macedonia , said Croatian President Ivo Josipovic .
Josipovic said that Bulgaria and Croatia , which he considers the neighboring countries even they do not share a common border , must do more on economic and cultural cooperation .
Josipovic said that the improvement of relations with Serbia is the key to a healthier environment and a European perspective of the Western Balkans.
“What plagues Croatian – Serbian relations is not the future but the past. However we have started to resolve these issues,” he said.

On the subject of Macedonia ,Croatian President said that bilateral relations with neighboring countries should not be an obstacle to EU accession.At the End of 2012. , Bulgaria and Greece opposed the granting date to start accession negotiations with Macedonia on the basis of its cultural policy which , according to the Athens and Sofia ,is appropriating their cultural heritage.
