August this year confirmed as the weakest month for car sales – during the month of August in Croatia it has been sold only 1,539 new cars.
Sales usually fall in August due to summer vacations, and so was the case this year as compared to July sold 1,685 new cars , or 52.2 percent less.
Sales, however, fell on an annual basis too and just looking at August it felt for 188 cars and 11 percent compared to August of last year, and for the first eight months of this year felt by 4,487 cars or 18.2 percent .
In total in the first eight months of the year in Croatia it has been sold 20.147 cars.

The best-selling car brand in Croatia since the beginning of the end of August, was Volkswagen with 3,546 vehicles and a market share of 17.6 percent.
Next are Opel cars from 2206 which accounts for 10.9 percent and Peugeot vehicles having market share of 7.3 percent .
Among the models , the best-selling are Volkswagen Golf , with sales of 1,271 vehicles in eight months , followed by the Opel Astra , Opel Corsa, Hyundai i30, etc. .
